This site is about the yard I’ve been working on for the past ten years in North Seattle.  I keep it mostly for documentation purposes and as a reminder that even through neglect the garden always comes back.

For the record I can be pretty lazy.

Some years ago I wrote a sort of manifesto for all of what I was hoping for:

“Build a little world: a world of plants and drawings about birds. A Kingsolver way of growing my own vegetables and most importantly knowing that all of these things take time. Become a better cook and make our little homestead a happy place. Plant more flowers everywhere. Save seeds. Grow the bird farm. Take lots of pictures. Kiss Pickles.”

*Pickles is a dog.
